What Made Me Want To Be A Photographer and How I Got Started

Where do I even start... I have never written a blog before so this should be an interesting write AND read! Enjoy :)

After recently getting engaged, February 21, 2015, I started looking online for a photographer for my wedding. I knew EXACTLY what I wanted and I was not going to settle for anything less than the best. I stumbled upon a photographer who a family friend had recommended. The photographer and I spoke a few times and she was so sweet and I could tell she was so passionate about her work. This got me thinking... I know I have a creative eye and mind, maybe I can finally put it to use.

I never really knew fully what I wanted to do with my life. I knew I wanted to own my own business, but I wasn't sure how or when, or even WHAT I wanted to do. After talking with Mallory Munson, my amazing wedding photographer, I told her I aspired to be a photographer and asked for help in choosing a good camera to start off with, I messed around with my fiance's camera for a few days and I just knew that this was it. This is what I wanted to do.

I bought my first camera that following week; a Nikon D3300. I slowly started to ask people to let me practice on them, I bought new and more expensive lenses and I purchased Photoshop Lightroom to do all of my editing on. I slowly taught myself how to do things by practicing more and more, and by watching YouTube videos (which I still do to this day).

This experience has been such a wonderful time, and an amazing journey. I am no where I want to be or need to be, but I am slowly getting there. I hope one day that I will become a full time photographer and will not have to work a Monday to Friday job anymore to pay the bills; until then, I will continue to blog about my photography, as well as watch more YouTube videos.

Until next time my lovely's!

-Xo

Brittany
